Jocelyn Meli Therapy
Specialist Trauma Therapy & Psychotherapeutic Counselling
About me

My passion for personal growth and psychotherapy began in my early twenties, and it has fuelled my life in so many ways, both personally and professionally. I am also passionate about trauma. It is a fascinating subject, that is so often deeply misunderstood.
I'm 55-years of age, originally from London, and now live in the countryside working online internationally, and locally in person.
I bring together three strands of expertise:
Professional work
My therapeutic private practice begun in 2019.
In 2019 I also initiated, coordinated, and was the lead counsellor, of a small community counselling service in the Highlands of Scotland, until 2023.
I offer a 20 year professional career prior to being a therapist which includes working within specialist mental health services and rehabilitation projects, offering one to one support and in a senior capacity, client case leader, and team and service manager. This has provided comprehensive experience in client-centred work, helping people who are struggling and facing life crises' to make positive and empowering changes in their lives and improve their well-being.

Personal experience
In addition to my clinical knowledge, personal experience of trauma enables me to understand the intricacies and complexes that can be misunderstood by clinicians. I am living proof that trauma can be safely processed and healed. The combination of evidence-based techniques, a holistic approach, and a skilful therapist, offers fertile ground for lasting healing and recovery.

I also consider myself a spiritual person and my therapeutic practice is influenced by the skillful practices I have learnt and practiced for over 30 years, such as mindfulness, meditation, compassion and loving kindness. I have had the good fortune to work with many leading spiritual teachers around the world,
whose wisdom helps to navigate my
therapeutic work.
